If you’re like me, you’ve been lusting over all those beachy, bedhead-looking haircuts that have been all over Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook these days. After endless tries to duplicate these hair goals I see all over the internet, I decided to treat my hair to a day of luxury at an Instagram-famous salon.
I’ve been following an Instagram account for the past year who is actually a girl I knew growing up. Little did I know that @thefashionisa wouldn’t just be a friend I had 100 mutual friends with, and someone I knew that decided to go to beauty school; but an actual hair goddess that I am forever grateful for (even if I just started going to her in November).
When I finally realized how much I needed to get my hair back to looking more natural and Pinterest perfect, I called Isa at IGK Salon at SLS and made my first appointment.
It wasn’t your usual quick 30-minute hair appointment. After what seemed like the longest hair appointment I’ve ever had, my look was finally complete. It was — without a doubt — the best cut and color combo I’ve ever had. The full day of pampering was MORE than worth it.
These people are true artists. They know their craft, and they know it well. Now that it’s over, I can’t believe I ever had any other look before.
Getting your hair done at a top-notch beauty salon like the SLS Boutique Hotel is like walking into a room full of all those Pinterest boards you follow. Trendy people can have the bad rap of being cold, standoffish and unwelcoming. However, here it was… the exact opposite. Everyone was so friendly and nice. Around every hour, someone asked me how I was doing and if I needed anything. The entire staff were total rock stars and couldn’t have been more helpful.
