Yes, we live in Miami. And yes, the temperature does not go lower than 50 degrees (which is basically a snow day for us). But we still follow all the same fashion rules as the rest of the country. So, since we have been wearing all the blacks, grays and browns in our closet for the last couple of months, it’s finally time to put some color in our world.
Thankfully, this year we won’t have to be in total color shock though. Instead of going from black to rainbow in full throttle, we will transition slowly – and an extra bonus: You’ll feel like royalty doing it.
Pantone, AKA the global authority on all things hue-related, named Radiant Orchard the color of 2014. “Radiant orchard is a bright purple mixed with pink hues. It blooms with confidence and magical warmth that intrigues the eye and sparks the imagination. It is expressive, creative, and embracing- one that draws you in with its charm,” explained Pantone’s executive director.
Colors affect us more than we think. It isn’t a coincidence that when you wear boring colors – you feel boring. And then you have those days that you wear a color you just absolutely adore, and you immediately feel like you are sitting on Queen Elizabeth’s throne. After wearing the color of the year for this shoot, Radiant Orchard has definetly made it to my top queen-feel colors.
So guess what? We ALL get to be the Queen in 2014.
